Enhanced fitness relates to reduced cerebrovascular reactivity and perfusion in a sample of very healthy older adults

Aims : To understand  relationship between fitness and grey matter volume(GMV), cerebral blood flow(CBF) and cerebrovascular reactivityC(VR)
Anatomical, CBF and CVR information are collected by MRI acquisitions in all participants.
Results revealed decreased CVR was associated with increased fitness throughout large areas of the cerebral cortex.
Lower fitness was associated with higher CBF and a slower hemodynamic response.
